American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists
About
American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is currently the nation’s largest student pharmacist organization, with over 30,000 student members nationwide. The mission of APhA-ASP is “to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.”
Within APhA-ASP, we offer a wide variety of roles and opportunities, including: policy and advocacy, leadership, patient care and community service projects, international opportunities, professional development programs, career development programs, and meetings and networking. The possibilities within APhA-ASP are truly endless, and these opportunities are furthered via the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), which includes pharmacists from all specialties within the profession.
On campus at the University of South Carolina, APhA-ASP is open to Pre-Pharmacy students and PharmD Candidate students. Our patient care initiatives include: Operation Diabetes, Operation Heart, Operation Immunization, Operation Reproductive Health, Operation Substance Use Disorder, and OTC Medication Safety. We also offer opportunities within the realm of pharmacy policy and advocacy, as well as international opportunities.
