Carolina Ballroom Dance Club
About
Carolina Ballroom is USC's ballroom dance club! We teach dances in American style and International style, as well as social dances! No experience is needed to join the club, and we teach you everything you need to know!
Carolina Ballroom will practice at 8 on Mondays in Strom 125 and 7:30 on Thursdays in Strom 127. (Ignore the meeting time below… we can’t figure out how to change that but that is old). Beginner lessons will be more relaxed and will focus on American style dances and social dances, while advanced lessons will be more technique-oriented and focus on International dances. The beginner lessons are open to everyone, regardless of level, while advanced lessons are geared toward experienced dancers.
We host a competition at USC each year and travel to competitions throughout the school year*. Members may choose whether they want to compete, but it is highly encouraged (and really fun)!
The 2024 Gamecock Invitation will be held on October 26th!
The dances we teach are: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Samba, Jive, Swing, Mambo, Blues, Cha cha, Rumba, Charleston, and Salsa!
We also have several social events at which to practice our dances and get to know our members!
***NOTE! In order to participate in this club or any other sports club, you must fill out a waiver!
