USC College Republicans is a group of like-minded students at the University of South Carolina. As one of the largest College Republican chapters in the South, we strive to share the views of the Republican Party on campus and in our state.
As a chapter we often hold discussion and friendly debate on political topics such as policy reform, civil liberties, and elections. We also set up various internship and volunteer opportunities for our members throughout the year.
As an on-campus organization, we hear from various speakers on many different topics and often open these speakers to all the student-body. Past speakers include: Governor Henry McMaster, Congressman Joe Wilson, State Treasurer Curtis Loftis, Attorney General Alan Wilson, and Representative Jay Kilmartin.
As a political organization on campus, we offer students the opportunity to learn more about the Republican Party and its platform. To understand the GENERAL idea of the Republican platform, here are a few talking points:
We believe in personal responsibility.
We believe in limited government.
We believe in a free-market society.
We believe in individual liberty.
We believe in strong national defense.
We believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals and dreams.
This group is open to all students. It does not matter if you have not joined a political party or voted yet. All students are welcome to come to events throughout the year and see how they feel about the Republican platform of ideas, and our chapter as a whole.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions whatsoever. All executive members would be happy to help with any needs. We are a very welcoming group and cannot wait to meet you all!
