Gamecock Swing Dance Club

The Gamecock Swing Dance Club is a place where anyone is welcome to enjoy anything surrounding Swing Dancing and its culture. We have a beginner-friendly class every week, followed by a social dance. We dance to swing jazz and have a blast every time.

Swing jazz is a type of music that dominated 1930s and 40s America. It has a "swing" feel (duh) to it. That just means that the emphasis is on the off-beat. Some of the greats of this genre include Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Chick Webb, Count Basie. We love swing dancing and would love to give you a place to learn to love it as well!
