Hands On Prosthetic Engineering
About
Hands On Prosthetic Engineering, aka HOPE, is a student organization at the University of South Carolina and a non-profit organization that strives to provide those in need with prosthetic hands and arms at no cost. We provide students the opportunity to serve their community while gaining experience with 3D printing. Our student organization develops leaders and technical experts through research opportunities and service. The nonprofit provides the resources necessary to accomplish our mission. Some of our goals include researching prosthetic materials, increasing printing efficiency, and creating an effective modular design. Finally, our objective is to provide events for children to learn skills with their 3D prosthesis and bring them together with others to share their experiences.
