It's On Us

The purpose of the It’s On Us Initiative shall be to combat sexual assault and interpersonal violence on college campuses by initiating an open dialogue about sexual assault to empower, educate, and engage our students. We use a 3 pronged approach:  sexual assault awareness, bystander education, and survivor support. It is student-driven and aims to change campus culture surrounding sexual assault and interpersonal violence as well as serve as a liaison between the Carolina community and available resources. It targets communities often misrepresented and under-supported to facilitate a holistic approach to combating sexual assault and interpersonal violence. It's On Us is here to implement the following pledge:

• To RECOGNIZE that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.
• To IDENTIFY situations in which sexual assault may occur.
• To INTERVENE in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.
• To CREATE an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.
