Off Off Broadway
About
We are a musical theatre student organization at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus comprised of USC students, faculty, and staff members. We challenge ourselves to produce quality performances, provide leadership opportunities, and foster a community through a shared interest in musical theatre. We promote the overall well-being of our fellow members and adhere to the Carolinian Creed as students of the University of South Carolina.
Off Off Broadway was founded by non-theater majors and lovers of musical theatre and performance, believing that even those not pursuing an acting career should be able to participate in theatre during their college experience. We live by the words, "Come for the theatre, stay for the family", and have found that every member has a home here in Off Off Broadway.
We produce at least one show a semester: a student-written musical revue with a selection of musical theatre songs, a cabaret of select musical theatre pieces, or a licensed musical. We strive to showcase the individual strengths and talents of each performer in the best way possible. These shows are free to the public; however, donations are always appreciated. These shows are funded through membership dues and your donations. Auditions occur twice a year, corresponding with the Student Organization Fair. Please email offoffbway@gmail.com or visit our website for more information on auditions, tech work, and how to get involved!
Some of our most recent musicals performed include: Pippin (Fall 2024), Heathers: The Musical (Spring 2024), Golden Time (Fall 2023), Chicago (Spring 2023), Dream Roles: a Showcase (Spring 2023), Catch Me If You Can (Fall 2022), Seven Deadly Sins Cabaret (Fall 2022), Carrie the Musical (Spring 2022), The Addams Family (Fall 2021), One Last Time (Spring 2021), and Sam and the Trial of the Exceedingly Impossible Homicide (Spring 2021).
