South Carolina Student Legislature
About
South Carolina Student Legislature is a statewide mock-legislature, reminiscent of Youth in Government. First started in the 1950's, SCSL has chapters at major universities across the state. Each semester, delegations from member schools gather for a legislative session to present and debate bills in a mock General Assembly.
Our SCSL chapter meets once every week to work on writing, presenting, and debating our legislation. This is a great opportunity to learn public speaking skills, understand the policy-writing process, connect with future leaders of SC, and explore state politics. For more information on SCSL, please visit the statewide organization's website at http://www.scstudentlegislature.org/.
If you are interested in joining our delegation this semester or have any questions, please send an email to Sam Maloney at sam53@email.sc.edu. We are looking forward to a great semester for SCSL!
