See the Difference

Did you know that approximately one billion people worldwide suffer from insufficient eyesight that can be easily remedied by wearing a pair of eyeglasses, but 90% of those that could benefit live in low-income countries without access to eyeglasses? In March of 2019, See The Difference was founded after Taylor Faherty traveled to Costa Rica over spring break on a Capstone Scholars medical trip. She noticed that despite giving all of her patients an eye exam, the clinic was unable to provide any treatment for their conditions. Upon returning to the US, she immediately began collecting eyeglasses to send back to the community with which she worked. Today, See the Difference has collected over 1,000 pairs of donated prescription glasses through established partnerships with local Columbia churches. Our organization cleans and assigns prescription to each pair of glasses before sending full boxes on medical mission trips to Latin American countries. We are currently serving communities in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala.
