Meetings are biweekly on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Close-Hipp 351! Our first meeting of the Spring 2025 semester will be January 21st!
The Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Interest Group (SLPAIG) works with the graduate program NSSHLA, the only national student organization for pre-professionals interested in the study of speech-language pathology and audiology recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The mission of the organization is to inspire, empower, and support students in the field of communication sciences and disorders. SLPAIG gives you the tools to navigate your academic career while preparing you for your professional one.
Through leadership opportunities, access to peer-reviewed academic journals, opportunities for financial support, networking events, Q&A panels, and more this organization can help connect undergraduates to the world of communication sciences and disorders. The core values of the organization are leadership, collaboration, integrity, service, diversity, and education.
The undergraduate chapter of SLPAIG will work directly with the already established graduate chapter from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Together, the chapters will host (socially distant) networking events to meet graduate students and faculty, Q&A panels to talk about USC's program and the application process, research opportunities, guest lectures, opportunities for philanthropy, and other pre-professional development events.
This organization is perfect for any Public Health, Education, Social Work, or major interested in the fields of speech-language pathology or audiology. We hope to be a resource to students to help connect undergraduate students to these wonderful career fields!
